"Bromantic" is the adjective from "bromance". You're right in guessing it is a kind of "romance" between two guys ("bros", as in brothers). Is it homosexual? Well no, not really. It wittily describes men who spend so much time together that any relationship with a female partner takes second place. I think the important factor is that the guys are straight. Is it a "real" English word? Well, it's as real as much as we use it. :) Still, I don't take this word very seriously - if someone uses it, I get the hint that they are joking about friendship between guys.

More or less it refers to homosexual tendencies between 2 guys as far as I know. You probably won't find it in a standard dictionary ;-)

It's just a made up word like "neosexual" used to describe a macho looking but sensitive man.

No, there is no sexual relationship involved in bromancy , it is a form of homosocial intimacy. It is a slang formed by combining the 2 words ( brother + romance). Since it is more common for girls to be intimate in their friendship, the phenomena of guys sticking together intimately seems like a less common thing and was thus coined as a slang term. Since they are not gays, there had to be a certain term to specify their unique relationship, that is not a typical form of male acquaintance in the traditional sense. There is another term following the prior :sromance or sisromance, referring to girlfriends of the bromance couple, who compare notes and learn they have much more in common than they ever thought.
