In Japanese, 1,2,3, ... are called 一つhitotsu ,二つｆutatsu, 三つmittsu....... めつ　means 3 , I think.

if your hiragana is right, i occur one word, ”滅”. it mean is "extermination". often, you look it in comic. saikik say ”滅！！", then, enemy vanish. sometimes, enemy is evel ghost or monster.
