My educational policy
I've been teaching English to adults from children for long time.
There are various types of learners. They have different backgrounds and learning styles. Some are auditory learners (They learn by listening and sounds are useful for them). The others are visual learners (They learn by reading and image picture with texts). Of course, there are not only these two types. You may be a mix type of those or have other ways to learn.
I would like to offer you many opportunities in class to find which type is better for you. In the long run, I hope you can get how to learn target language by yourself in the future. Here is a key to be successful.
Acquiring English is like sports or learning musical instruments. So practice and exercise everyday helps improve your skill naturally. Sadaharu O, a former professional baseball player, says that
"Your hard work always pays off. If it didn't, it can't be said that that makes an effort." It depends on you whether you would success or not.
English is the main language in the aviation industry even if you work in Japan. It is necessary for workers such as airline staff or mechanic after graduation. You have to read documents or see signs written in English in your workplace. You might work with people of different nationalities who speak English. It's never too late to study English. I know many students don't like English, but now start it immediately! I believe that you try to take an action for it.

Is it possible to put these prepositions?
If we use other prepositions instead of "on", are they correct grammer, but strange meaning?
1. She is turning on some lights.
2. She is turning under some lights.
3. She is turning at some lights.
4. She is turning across some lights.
Thanks in advance.

I have a cold and I have a fever.
Why is an indefinite article "a" put before the word "cold" or "fever"?
Are they countable nouns? Are there two colds(fevers), three colds...??

What does "as" means and which part of speech in this sentence?
I do not know the meaning of "as the wind whistled in his ears" and the function as a part of speech of "as" in this sentence(article). Does anyone please explain and tell me the translation?
With a few flaps of his arms, Kip Fenton soared into the New York City skyline, flying around a forest of skyscrapers as the wind whistled in his ears.
Thank you.

I'm confused about verb tenses in a complex sentence. Why is present perfect tense used in this?
Here is the sentence below. It is written in a workbook for TOEIC.
We regret to announce that Mr.Charles has resigned his position as senior sales manager, effective next Monday.
I don't know why the present perfect tense, "has resigned" , is used in the dependent clause. The time Mr.Charles is going to leave his position is future, next Monday, so I cannot understand it. Does anyone explain how to use verb tenses in this case? If it is the present tense "resigns", future tense "will resign", or future perfect tense "will have resigned", these tenses are not correct in grammar?
