I am a professional general and business English teacher and have been teaching for 27 years, in-class and online. I also teach my native language, Hungarian. My most popular class is the Citizenship Interview prep, many of my students passed the interview successfully and they are already Hungarian citizens. Being a graphic designer I can also help you with building your family tree if you like. I was born in Budapest, Hungary, but now I live in the countryside. My other work experiences and qualifications include accountancy, finance, translation, journalism and graphic design. Besides teaching I like hiking, gardening, landscape photography, animals, crafts, arts, yarns and books. Adult education is my preference and expertise, but sometimes I help secondary school students with their studies. I teach Hungarian mostly for those who speak English (and I also teach English mostly for Hungarians.) I prepare my students for the Hungarian citizenship interview and the Constitutional exam. This is what I can offer for learners of Hungarian: 1) Free conversation / Spotlight on Hungary (or your interests), 2) Citizenship Interview / Exam Preparation 3) Family tree building 4) Hungarian Course A1-C1 (with MagyarOK coursebooks) 5) Literature and Stylistics For more details of my Hungarian and English/Business English lessons, please see the lesson descriptions. I've been working with Ildikó for over 2 years to learn Hungarian for my simplified naturalization interview, which I just passed successfully the day I'm writing this. She's an excellent, very thorough, very encouraging teacher who's instilled in me just as much love for the Hungarian language and Hungarian culture as I can tell she has herself. She's been very understanding and accommodating to help me learn at my own pace, but she's never gone easy on me, always pushing me to speak and understand Hungarian on a deeper level. She's fantastic at tailoring lessons and conversations to who I am; don't be surprised on your first lesson if she's Googled you and already has a lesson plan about your most obscure interests! That is how much Ildikó truly cares about her students. If you're in for the long haul of learning this language, Ildikó is a fantastic teacher to take you on this journey, and will feel like family by the end of it.

Ildikó is an excellent teacher. She is very patient and thorough in her approach. She takes the time to explain concepts clearly and makes sure I fully understand each part before moving forward.
