I am Ryan, a native of Salvador, Brazil, with a deep passion for languages and cultural exchange. My approach to teaching Portuguese is dynamic and immersive, leveraging authentic materials like films, music, and Brazilian narratives to create an engaging learning experience.
Fluent in English and French, I ensure clear communication and a comfortable environment for learners at all levels. Currently expanding my linguistic repertoire with German, I bring firsthand empathy for the challenges of language acquisition.

Is there any topic you’d prefer to avoid? Am I speaking too fast or too slow? Just let me know! The fewer barriers there are, the faster you’ll progress. ✨
My classes are completely flexible: if you prefer, you may choose the topic, pace, and even the materials. I love using songs, movies, etc.
Want to practice conversation? Great! Prefer to focus on grammar? Let’s do it! And how about learning through play? I use games like ‘Guess Who?’ and ‘Describe the Image’ to mix fun and learning. A bit of adrenaline won't hurt! Challenge yourself—the more you engage, the quicker you’ll see results.

First lesson with Ryan was great, it felt just like talking to a friend I've known for years. His encouragement was really helpful in making me feel comfortable in speaking Portuguese. I would definately recommend him is a teacher.

Ryan is an incredible teacher. He pays close attention to your needs and tailors plans to your skillset. He's very understanding of different struggles while learning and does his best to make sure you feel comfortable throughout the entire lesson.
What I like the most is that he takes his time to write down every word you don't understand and provide definition, examples, and other helpful resources within a google doc.
He is always on time and when I was late not only did he wait for me to arrive, but he also still allowed me to partake in the full hour of my lesson which is often not allowed elsewhere.
I would recommend Ryan to anyone learning Brazilian Portuguese. We've covered reading, podcast, speaking, listening, and video material in just our 3 lessons so far. Can't wait to continue seeing my progress on this journey !
