After several years of working in Taiwan, living in India and in Barbados, and traveling with a backpack worldwide, I decided to settle down in my hometown Paris. My name is Sylvie. I'm a french native speaker (with a Parisian accent) and I'm looking forward to teaching you this beautiful language. My lessons will be based mostly on conversations, and I will surely customize them to your needs. I have also experience in tutoring French high school pupils preparing for the french Bac exam. I've been teaching on Italki for almost 6 years now and I've helped more than 300 students in their journey of learning French. I have experience from teaching French to kids, teenagers and adults. During the first session, I will assess your language level and give you a better perspective of your communication skills. I always try to make this first lesson joyful and valuable. I like to talk about anything and everything is interesting to me :) I usually prepare subjects and send it to you before the lesson, so you have time to prepare. I also don't prepare, that depends on you. I'm usually really enthousiastic about meeting new students in my tutor journey. This is very helpful when I need to understand a concept or word, or even pronunciation , and cannot yet convey my ideas in French.

Pour commencer, Sylvie est une enseignante très sympa et très communicative. Elle aussi parle beaucoup des langues, donc si tu veux de l'aide avec des méthodes d'étude, tu es arrivé au bon endroit ! Serviable et flexible. Que peux tu demander de plus ?

I enjoyed the conversation. Sylvie was attentive to my goals and offered corrections as I requested. My goal is to have a conversation partner that can help me to express my ideas in the best possible way; Sylvie is an interesting person to speak with and appeared curious about my and my thoughts. She also prompted me to ask her questions about her interests, which was helpful and felt pedagogical.
