¡Hola! I’m a Mexican Spanish teacher with 12+ years of experience, specializing in natural, lively conversations—because language thrives when we use it, not just study it. My lessons blend linguistics, culture (especially Mexican traditions!), and your personal goals—whether it’s debunking grammar myths or chatting about art, travel, or food (yes, I’ll share taco secrets!) Beyond teaching, I’m into photography, watercolor & arts in general—perfect topics for our chats. Let’s turn mistakes into progress. Growing up with competent teachers and mentors, I've been exposed to high quality teaching and a great deal of teaching methods. I must admit though, by now, I have learned from my students as much as I've shared. “Science, my lad, is made up of mistakes, but they are mistakes which it is useful to make, because they lead little by little to the truth"- Jules V. I work with self-taught students who come to their classes with specific questions and/or practice conversation. Some may also want a structured session. No previous knowledge is required. Shyness or nervousness from the student is not an issue in my classes. Your learning style is a puzzle for me and I am looking forward to working it out. Our classroom is a safe place to make mistakes/debunk Spanish myths/ regain focus and motivation.

Cynthia is a great teacher. She always has a good lesson planned for each class, and has a lot of resources to help you learn. She is great at helping you along when you need it, but she also knows when to make you push yourself instead of just giving you answers that you actually know. She also speaks very clear in both languages so it is very easy to understand her in English or Spanish. I'm learning Spanish faster than I would have ever thought possible, thanks to Cynthia's help. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone that speaks English and wants to learn Spanish or vice-versa.

Cynthia has my highest recommendation for anyone looking for a highly professional, knowledgeable, and interesting/fun Spanish teacher. I first came across her lessons from a Spanish learner on Youtube who chronicles his journey learning Spanish with tutors on italki. I noticed in her lesson with the Youtuber how easy it was to understand her Spanish. She also spoke amazing English which was important to me as someone at the low-intermediate level because I wanted a teacher who could easily toggle back and forth from Spanish to English. So, I booked a lesson with her and I can honestly say that she earns all of her rave reviews. Her lessons are organized and well-thought-out for my personal needs ( I asked for lots of grammar lessons). She is encouraging when I get something right (I love positive reinforcement!) & super helpful & gentle in her corrections when I say something wrong. She is truly the perfect Spanish teacher. Book with her, you won't regret it!
