Dr. Taraneh

I've been taking classes with Dr. Taraneh for almost a year now and they have been very helpful for my Farsi -- she has been great at targeting the lessons to my level and experience, and balancing introducing new concepts with reinforcing known material. For me they are a mix of question and answer, speaking practice, and learning new grammar or vocab, with great context and examples provided. She is a very patient and encouraging teacher and has helped me identify where I'm making mistakes and how to fix them, and she provides helpful resources and exercises to help me learn. I definitely have become more confident when speaking, writing, and listening to Farsi and I'm able to put together much more complex and varied sentences and talk about a wider range of topics compared to where I was last year. I would definitely recommend Dr Taraneh as a teacher, both to beginners who want to learn Farsi, or students who have experience but want to improve further.

Learning a new alphabet/script has never been so much fun and without major difficulty! This teacher is absolutely excellent! I cannot recommend her enough.

Taraneh is a superb language educator! She is really great at helping me understand concepts and can even anticipate my questions because she understands my learning style. The pace is great and she has useful out of class assignments that help me practice and prepare for my next class. FIVE STARS!

I really enjoy taking classes with Dr. Taraneh -- she provides great resources and the classes are a good mix of freeform speaking practice, structured learning (i.e. grammar, exercises), and cultural context. The learning is also very personalized; when I started taking lessons with her she had asked about what my goals were and she incorporated those elements into the class, and she has continued to ask me about what types of resources / learning I'm interested in and how much time I have to work outside of class when planning lessons or giving homework for the next week. The most exciting change for me is that I am becoming much more confident in my speaking. I can now talk about a wider variety of subjects and have started trying to use more creative sentence structure, whereas previously I felt a lot less confident even when discussing familiar things, and had much less flexibility in my speaking. I highly recommend Dr. Taraneh if you want to become more confident in your Farsi!
