I have traveled all over the world, living in different countries, including 8 yrs in Taiwan where I taught Business English to professionals in high-tech companies. I currently live in Sicily.
I'm from Las Vegas, USA and have a neutral Western American accent.
I WORK WITH B1-C2 LEVEL ADULTS.
I'm an energetic and optimistic person, so my lessons are positive, encouraging, and professional.

Business English InstructorI taught Business and Conversational English to adult professionals in high-tech companies including Logitech, Micron, Kingston, TSMC and other global companies. Topics included interviewing, presentations & public speaking, meetings, sales & negotiation, email & report writing, and travel topics like ordering at a restaurant, making appointments, giving/receiving directions, and booking hotels. General conversation topics included travel, daily life, hobbies & interests, and making small talk.
2012 - 2015
Business English InstructorITI is a prestigious government-run school under Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs, and it offers Business Administration certificates to adult students who already have at least a Bachelor's degree. As an instructor, I taught advanced-level business-related English classes including Business Reading & Discussion, Email Writing, Job Search & Interviewing, Presentations, Meetings, Negotiation, Cultural Awareness, Internship Prep, and general reading, writing, listening, and speaking courses.
2015 - 2016
Business English InstructorI was recruited back to David's English Center, and I taught Business and Conversational English to adult professionals in high-tech companies just like I did before. In addition to Business English classes, I was also a lecturer at companies to teach employees global business culture, as well as advanced spoken and written communication skills. I taught in a multi-national environment with companies from the US, Taiwan, China, Japan, and South Korea.
2016 - 2019
Business English InstructorAfter five years living and working in Taiwan, I became a Permanent Resident and could be self-employed, so I went out independently and contracted directly with companies like Logitech, Winbond, Tokyo Electron, Kingston, Trividia Health, and others to teach group English classes and do 1:1 tutoring for employees. Topics included business and general conversation, as well as listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. I was in such high demand that I had a waiting list.
2019 - 2024
Business & Conversation English InstructorAfter leaving Taiwan, I have continued to teach students online while living in Europe and traveling to different countries.

학사 - Business & PsychologyAfter getting as Associate's degree in Psychology from a 2-year college, I went to the University of Idaho for my Bachelor's. I loved both Psychology and Business, so I was able to do an Interdisciplinary program to get a degree that combined both interests.

2008 - 2010
Business Development & Marketing DirectorI worked as the Marketing Director for a civil and structural engineering firm. My main role was to submit proposals for engineering projects, including for Dept. of Defense so I had to have a strong understanding of the projects the company already completed, including materials, structure types, building methods, etc. I also did Business Development by attending networking events, having strategic meetings with architects, contractors, etc., and hosting open house events at the company office.
2010 - 2011
Sales RepresentativeI worked as a sales rep selling windows and siding for residential homes and businesses. Average transactions were $10K-30K, and sales were made by going to the customers' homes to assess their windows and siding, take measurements, and give estimates. I had one of the highest closing rates in the company for window sales.
2019 - 2024
CopywriterI write sales copy for businesses including for web sites, product and sales pages, landing pages, Facebook and Instagram ads, and email marketing sequences. For email, I write welcome/indoctrination sequences, nurture sequences, and sales and launch sequences.
2020 - 2024
GhostwriterWith my marketing background, I help entrepreneurs, business owners, and corporate leaders write books that position them as experts in their fields and set them apart from their competitors. I do all the work of writing the books, including interviewing my clients and helping them organize what they want to say, and I help them strategize their branding, as well as marketing of the book.

I took several lessons to prepare for the interview and they were very helpful.
Deborah approaches each lesson very professionally and in the end you receive not only help with pronunciation and vocabulary, but you can speak more naturally and form phrases correctly. Also she gives you very important advice on how best to present yourself to companies and answer their questions.
