Constantin Mihai

Constantin is completely proficient in Latin, which does not cease to amaze me, and he's very good at rephrasing or explaining what I don't initially understand, all without using a word of English! It's also fun to just chat with him about anything!

Another great lesson. I can't stress enough how helpful these classes are in really internalizing Ancient Greek. Having just finished a lesson, the language feels like it is already more "really in my head" than ever before; I just spoke to my wife and almost instinctively began using Ancient Greek! τοῦτο δὲ μάλα ἀρέσκει μοι!

I really enjoyed my lesson with Constantin. He was really friendly, encouraging and had a good energy which made me feel at ease. He was well prepared and his views on learning Latin aligned well with mine. He started quickly and the lesson passed by super quickly because it was so enjoyable. He also sent some useful notes afterwards.

Μιχαὴλ εὗρον πέρυσι ἐσπουδκὼς πολλὰ ἤδη ἔτη περὶ τῆς ἑλληνικῆς γλώσσης καὶ βουλόμενος μελετᾶν τὸ διαλέγεσθαι. ὁ δὲ Μιχαὴλ ἄρτι ἐφαίνετό μοι σπουδαιότατος καὶ ἐπιεικὴς ὤν, διδάσκων ὁτιοῦν ἔχει ἄσμενως μετὰ ἐλευθερίας τε καὶ φιλίας. μὴ οὖν ἀπορεῖ, ὦ ἀναγινώσκων, εἰ οἷός τε καὶ σύ μανθάνειν τὸ ἑλληνιστὶ διαλέγεσθαι. μὴ δὲ θαύμαζε εἰ, πολὺν ἤδη χρόνον ἀνηλωκὼς μάτην ἄλλῃ σπουδάζων περὶ τῆς γλώσσης, καλέσας “advanced” καίπερ οὐκ ἔχων τι τῷ ὄντι λέγειν, τοῦ Μιχαὴλ ὀλίγον χρόνον διδάσκοντος, ἐξαίφνης δείνος ἑλληνίζειν γίνῃ. ἔχων γὰρ τὸν Μιχαὴλ ὡς διδάσκαλον, μαθήσει εὐθέως, ἐάν τοι ὁ Θεός - καὶ σύ αὐτός - ἐθέλῃ!

Ho fatto dieci lezioni con Constantin per preparare due esami di greco classico. Ero disperato perché non trovavo un professore di greco bravo che sapesse anche parlare italiano e con lui ho trovato entrambe le cose. È stato dal primo momento mi è stato accanto in questo periodo di preparazione e nelle sue lezioni riesci anche a diverti affrontando testi così difficili. E la cosa più importante, è veramente bravo con il greco antico! Non sapevo che ci fossero persone che dominano così questa lingua. Grazie di tutto Constantin, di sicuro farò più lezioni nel futuro.
