Hello my name is Sera! I'm 28 years old. Born into a Turkish and American family, I grew up bilingual speaking two languages. I live in Istanbul currently. I graduated with the major of English Language and Literature. I teach English and yoga for a living, both of which I love dearly! Some of my hobbies include painting, reading, playing tennis, cooking new recipes and obsessively watching animal wildlife documentary. I love to travel and learn about different cultures, food and traditions.

지도 경험

I started my teaching journey by tutoring part time one-to-one English lessons to young learners, middle school kids and adults around me. I later earned my 120 hour TEFL certification and then worked full time (for two years) as an English classroom teacher in a Kindergarten where I taught 3-4 and 5-6 year old's, leading circle time, reading sessions, arts and crafts, creative projects and children's yoga.

내 강의 및 지도 스타일

My experiences have shown me that the best way for students to learn a language is to do so while having fun and experience speaking the language in a variety of different environments, activities and contexts, which grows curiosity and motivation. I prioritize giving students the language tools that will help them in real life situations. My aim is to encourage my students and help them learn English in the most enjoyable and practical way. After an initial meeting, I customize my lessons according to my student's level and goals. I use a communicative language method and include TPR for my younger students, a method which involves simple verbal instruction and intensive body language.
