My name is Elvira. I'm a certified Spanish and English as a Second Language teacher. I have worked with adults and young students in Belgium, Spain, and South Korea. I currently live in South Korea, where I'm also learning the local language.
I was born and raised in Guatemala, so I have a Latin American accent. I moved to the United States when I was 15 years old, and that is where I learned English for the first time as a high school student. I'm pretty familiar with the process and challenges that come with learning a new language. Therefore, I decided to become a Spanish and English teacher to make people's experiences with these languages as rich and enjoyable as possible.지도 경험
As a teacher, I put myself into my students' shoes as often as possible. Would I have been interested in certain topics as a teenager learning English? As an adult learning a new language now, would a boring lesson keep me motivated to keep learning? I try to keep these thoughts into account, as well as my students' feedback, to create lessons that are worth their time.내 강의 및 지도 스타일
I like to employ communicative language teaching, which focuses on getting the student to acquire the tools they would need to interact with those around them on a daily basis. I use activities such as role-playing and games during lessons. My goal is to create a low anxiety environment for students, where they can feel free to make mistakes while learning and have fun and enjoy the process.내 수업 자료

Spanish Teacher - Long-Term SubstituteI taught high school Spanish (9th-12th grades) as a long-term substitute for a semester before launching my career as an international school teacher.

Substitute TeacherI mainly worked with English learners whenever I was not covering for other classes, in which many English learners needed extra support as well.

Global Perspectives TeachersI currently teach global perspective to 1st and 2nd-grade and reading class to 3rd grade. These students are primarily English learners; therefore, all subjects must be taught from an ESL standpoint.

I have now tested several Spanish teachers. Elvira is the most professional of them all so far. She is punctual and friendly. Even though it was only a 30-minute trial lesson, we managed to do everything: I introduced myself, we discussed my goals and we even had a short lesson. I am very impressed.

My second lesson with Elvira was once again a lot of fun. She has a very pleasant, friendly manner. We laugh a lot. She can answer all my questions well and comes to class well prepared. She speaks slowly and clearly. I am really looking forward to the next lesson.
