¡Hola! My name is Carol, and I live in Begur (Catalonia). I’m a native Spanish and Catalan speaker. I live near the sea with my dog Rita and five cats… so yes, I fully embrace my cat lady era. I love animals, and whenever I can, I try to help those in need. All my cats were in danger when I found them, so of course I kept them — as we say in Spain, “where one eats, six can eat” (donde come uno, comen seis). During the lessons, they usually sleep (clearly not impressed by my explanations), but sometimes Rita decides to join us as a special guest. So if you don’t mind the occasional furry presence in the background, you’re in the right place.

I’ve been working as an online Spanish and Catalan tutor for several years, and I’ve taught over 4,600 lessons on italki, helping students of all levels and ages achieve great results. My Spanish pronunciation is neutral, and the same goes for my Catalan, which makes it easier for you to understand and learn. While I was at university, I started volunteering with NGOs, teaching Spanish and Catalan to people who had recently arrived in Spain. I also helped them understand the local culture and way of life. That’s when I realised teaching isn’t just something I do — it’s something I truly enjoy. I especially love seeing my students gain confidence and start expressing themselves naturally.

내 강의 및 지도 스타일

In informal lessons, we focus on improving your conversational skills. You can choose a topic — anything from recent events to your favourite subjects — or leave it up to me. We can also use this time to work on your questions or doubts, and even do mock conversations or role-plays based on real-life situations (work, travel, university, etc.). For more structured lessons, everything is tailored to your needs and goals. I prepare materials in advance, and if you have time and feel like it, I can also give you some homework. I like to keep lessons practical, flexible, and adapted to you — so you actually feel progress, not just study.
