Hi! I'm Saras a dental student born and raised in Bali, Indonesia. But, currently living in Yogyakarta as I'm finishing my study as a young dentist in University of Gadjah Mada. I've always been interested in foreign language and teaching in general. I used to join debating in English when I was in high school, and also informally trained my juniors. Now, I'm teaching basic dental microbiology to my juniors in my faculty in a formal setting. I have so many interests especially in art and language, I love to read literature both Indonesian and English lit, I also love music and movies (I can totally give you great recommendations on Indonesian movies and music!).

I'm a very flexible person in terms of teaching, I will adapt the teaching pace and ambiance to your need but at the same time still focusing on your goals in mastering the language. I will prepare my teaching materials before our meeting, so you can request what topics you would love to learn and focus on, or if you don't have anything in mind yet, I will offer you the topics that I already prepare for you and is suitable for you! I will be a perfect teacher for you in mastering Bahasa Indonesia as a daily conversational language and make sure that you will be able carrying a conversation with the natives in Indonesia!

I will focus on teaching you speaking, listening, and reading. I will try to expand your vocabulary and teach you the proper grammar and slangs in Bahasa Indonesia. I will provide you with PDFs as the study guidance and give you assignment in expanding your vocabulary (optional). And, I will make sure that we use Bahasa Indonesia more often in our meetings as your skills start to improve! And you can also ask anything regarding Indonesia to me, the culture, foods, customs, etc.!

Another great lesson. Ayu speaks and understands English at a high level so can help if some is needed, but is also excellent at just using the level of Indonesian grammar and vocab that is suitable. The lesson was engaging and useful.
