Hello! Γεια σας! Merhaba! I’m Panos, a native Greek and Turkish speaker with a passion for bridging cultures through language. Born into both worlds, I don’t just teach words—I help you think like a local, whether you’re ordering τυρόπιτα in Athens or bargaining in Istanbul’s bazaars. With an Oxford MA in International Relations and 15+ years of teaching, I specialize in making Greek/Turkish feel natural, blending grammar with cultural quirks (yes, we’ll discuss why Greeks wave and nod "no"!). Let’s turn language hurdles into conversations about art, politics, or even the perfect baklava.

I teach Greek and Turkish as a side-profession since I was 18 years old (for more than 19 years now). I have taken numerous courses regarding teaching and linguistics. I have a student-centered, flexible and interactive approach. I put a lot of emphasis on speaking and listening skills. I use solid, daily life examples and real-life situations to help my students grasp how the Greek/Turkish languages work, how Greeks/Turks think and how to apply it to their own experience. I have acquired a substantial set of techniques during my teaching experience. I have taught adults, children and groups.

I adapt my curriculum to the needs, age and profile of each student. I have had dozens of students from many countries, and across all ages, children to seniors. I believe that learning a language is more than just memorizing or learning grammar. I transfer my knowledge of Greek/Turkish languages and cultures to my students so that they can learn the language as well as the culture. I always aim to ensure that my students enjoy the lessons and find them interesting.

Panos is a rare find. Well-read, cultivated, witty. He draws experiences and knowledge from a true multicultural background, and manages to make each lesson engaging and unique. He effortlessly adapted to my learning style, confirmed my preference for a structured or more flexible approach to teaching, provides constant encouragement, remains focused, yet extremely patient and understanding. I had a fantastic first Greek lesson with Panos. He listened to my goals, assessed my level and then we started practicing right away. Not only is he so professional and encouraging but he is also a genuinely lovely person. He took my interests into account for future lessons, a detail which I really appreciate. As exercise material, we used a textbook and I also got assigned to write a paragraph as homework. An added bonus is that Panos speaks both Turkish (he is bilingual!) and English so he can adapt to my translations in both. Ευχαριστώ παρά πολύ and I look forward to our future lessons!
