I would recommend Ben to anyone looking to improve their French. Ben helped me prepare for the DELF B2, focusing specifically on oral expression. He is an effective teacher who is adaptable to his students — he tailored his feedback to my preferences and helped me refine my vocabulary and grammar in speaking. He provided solid feedback and out-of-class resources that allowed my speaking ability to flourish in a very short period of time. I felt as prepared as I could be entering the last part of the exam due to his preparations.

Ben is without doubt the most effective teacher I have ever worked with on any subject that I have learned. I am a college professor and teach for a living and i can say without any hesitation that Ben is a consummate professional. His pedagogy is strong to the point that he makes complex subjects completely accessible. What goes beyond his professionalism however, is his intuitive understanding of what makes it easy for a student to learn and his patience and determination. Ben has been my French teacher for 10 years. He will always be my French teacher because he is one of a kind. I started with him after a single semester in college and a summer of Duolingo + a grammar textbook. He has taken me from basic conversation and grammar rules to fluency. Here is how: From my first trial lesson, he has always been engaging, friendly and able to carry the conversation when I was at a loss for words. He had a plan for each lesson that adapted as I advanced, mastered grammar and could speak more fluently. He is always supportive, gentle when correcting and fun to talk to. His sincere care for his students as learners and as individuals is clear and a source of comfort. Beyond excellence as a teacher, he is personable in a unique way. Conversation with him is relaxed. It always feels like talking to a wise older friend. If you are thinking of learning French, give Ben a try. Learning French with Ben is a highlight of my life for 10 years and counting.
