Öznur

I've completed 26 lessons with Öznur so far, and I can say it has been a fantastic experience. She is kind, smart, fun and very good when providing feedback to improve. She has sent me several homework exercises that have helped me practice during the week. I started learning Turkish with Duolingo for 6 months, but I began making real progress when I began my lessons with Öznur. I recently sent her an email in Turkish, and I was surprised that I was able to write several paragraphs without a translator, except for a few words I had not learned yet. Totally recommended. Öznur harika bir öğretmen ve dersleri çok iyi :)

Öznur was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. This was my first ever lesson in Turkish, but she was patient with me as I used what little I know. I learned some new vocabulary and grammar, and talked about the culture as well. I'm looking forward to my next lesson!

Özi was very patient with my rusty Turkish that came out at the rate of about one word a minute…. She gave me some preparation to do for the lesson, which enabled me to master the material I had asked her to teach me! She corrected the mistakes I made in my pre-lesson work, and got me talking. She lets me learn in my own way and is happy to teach me what I want to learn. She taught me how to use diye with direct speech and gave me the material to learn how to use Dik with indirect speech as this was the next thing I wanted to learn. She also told me I need to watch Dizi etc when I complained that I can’t follow conversations at normal speed! She’s right! I shall start now….

ôznur has tought me so much in such a short time! Her material is super well-prepared and really helpful. Always a pleasure to have a session with her :)

Lessons with Teacher Öznur are very enjoyable. It feels like you are talking to a friend. I think the most important thing for a beginner is to have someone you feel comfortable speaking with. She is a great teacher, thank you!

The reason she didn’t provide a plan for the next lesson is that I’m going to Turkey, hopefully to practise speaking Turkish there, so there will be no more lessons for at least a month! Great lesson - time flew! Őzi answered all my many grammar questions about when and how to use -MIŞ and DIYE, AND we had time to chat about things I shall want to be able to talk about with Turkish friends.
