Hi! I’m Teacher Joy, a Licensed Professional Teacher from the Philippines and a native Tagalog speaker. I worked as a public high school teacher and I have over 10 years of teaching experience, including 4 years of online teaching with international students.
I finished Secondary Education major in English, which allows me to explain Tagalog clearly and effectively in English, which allows me to explain Tagalog clearly and effectively in English. I'm patient, goal-oriented, and committed to helping learners grow. I value sincerity and create space where you feel confident, supported and motivated. I'm an approachable teacher who builds great rapport with my students. Ever since I was a child, I've known that teaching is my true calling. After passing Licensure Examination for Teachers in 2014, I began teaching preschool and elementary students. later, I moved to secondary school, where I've been teaching language for the past 8 years. My teaching style is patient, goal-oriented, and supportive. I believe learning a language should be clear, enjoyable, and practical. I carefully adjust my lessons to each student’s needs and learning pace, making sure you gain confidence and real progress every lesson.

I completed Jhoy’s Tagalog Survival Kit, and the quality is exceptional. Her PowerPoints are clear, well-structured, and make each lesson easy to follow. Jhoy is an excellent Tagalog teacher. She is always prompt and prepared for the lesson. Her prepared PowerPoint slides keep each lesson structured and clear, and her calm, confident presence makes learning feel easy. She explains the language with solid academic clarity but also mixes in everyday phrases and insight on when to just use english or taglish. Highly recommended and looking forward to learning more.
