She has been teaching me for the last couple of months, I started from scratch — always encouraging, patient, humorous, and very well-prepared for our lessons. Rakeb is an amazing teacher and very knowledgeable about the Amharic language, particularly its ties to culture and linguistic roots. Rakeb's command of English is also very good which obviously makes things a lot easier for English speakers. It has been a very interesting journey so far for a total beginner!

Rakeb is a great teacher who is always prepared! I tried learning some Amharic by myself, but I needed a teacher to help guide me and keep me focused, and I'm so glad I found Rakeb. She helps me and is patient as I'm learning slowly. She has powerpoint slides to guide our lessons, and she's also flexible and help me with vocab that is useful for my daily life (as an elementary school teacher).
