Hej allihopa! I'm Mel & I live in Stockholm. I have 5 cats with my Japanese husband & I like doing Krav Maga & learning new things. I have a fascination for culture & languages and have dabbled in many different ones but I'm now focusing on Japanese, French, Russian & Chinese.

My lessons are conversational, and I hope to help build your confidence when speaking. To accomplish that I want you to feel safe and okay with making many mistakes.
As a person, I have great respect for people's differences in learning and I work to tailor-make the lessons for every student depending on their wants and needs. Naturally, I have some teaching techniques to work with but if you have a better way that works for you, then we'll go with that.

Omg, Mel is such a patient and yet enthusiastic teacher in our weekly Swedish conversation class! Always on time, brings great vibes to each lesson, very helpful with vocabulary and grammar tips. Her experience abroad and multiple languages she has studied gives her a global perspective and language learning sensibilities. Her location in N Sweden gives a new perspective on life in this country, rather than just the Stockholm point of view. Living in N Sweden myself, I appreciate this. On top of it all Mel is just plain fun. It's a bright point every week when we meet and I then fumble through Swedish with nothing but encouragement from her. Absolutely my favorite language teacher ever.
