Teacher Zhen gives you a lot of chances to speak and express your thoughts. My spoken Chinese tends to be all over the place, so I get easily frustrated when I can't express myself properly. But teacher Zhen listens patiently and has a way of being able to parse what you want to say, which makes you feel very encouraged, while making you feel like an equal in conversation. She also gives thoughtful feedback to written work. Her style makes you encouraged to come back for more lessons because it's a really stress-free learning environment. Definitely recommend :)

Zhen is a wonderful teacher! She is very kind, patient, and encouraging. She creates a comfortable learning environment where I never feel nervous about making mistakes. Her lessons are well organized and she gives plenty of opportunities to practice and improve. She is especially helpful with pronunciation and tones, and I always leave the lesson feeling like I learned something new. She also provides great materials after each lesson so I can continue practicing on my own. Highly recommend!
