Hello! I’m Karen. I am Japanese and grew up in Tokyo. I speak standard Japanese. I have a bachelor of Education, and my major was Japanese Language Teaching Methodology. 日本語教師理化学研究所に勤めている外国人研究者の皆さまに向けてオンラインでグループレッスン（1クラス約8人）をしております。みんなの日本語を用いてカリキュラムを作成し、1学期～3学期の授業を担当させていただいております。また、漢字のクラスも担当し主に読み書き・音読み・訓読み・派生語・類義語・反対語を扱い、日本の文化やニュースから漢字を学ぶ楽しさもお伝えしております。

After trying a few trial lessons with other instructors when deciding which language to learn, I chanced upon Karen-san and I felt that she was really friendly and approachable and since I wanna watch anime without subtitles one day, I decided to try a few more lessons.
With structured plan that is coupled with additional presentation materials, I was able to review and know what I don’t know. She is open to questions that we might have and she was able to answer with decent and clear English.
I am using the textbook currently but to enhance the quality of lesson, she would ask real questions which forces you to apply what I have learnt which is quite cool.Suggestions she made like learning some things like day of the month via song were helpful too. Highly recommend Karen-san if you seek to learn Japanese ✨

Today was our first lesson but Karen sensed took.time to get to know me and my learning goals and suggested a strategy for the lessons. I enjoyed the lesson and our conversation in which she supported me with grammatical explanations and vocabulary. ありがとうございます
