Hi! I'm Maryann, from Brittany, France, and I currently live in Normandy. I studied English, German, and Journalism at university. I worked for two years in a local newspaper, and during that time, I also obtained a DU (Diplôme d'université) in FLE (French as a Foreign Language). This September, I started a Master’s degree in Teaching French as a Foreign Language to develop my knowledge and skills in order to become a professional French teacher.
I’m passionate about languages and literature (I enjoy reading different genres), and I love travelling and learning about different cultures. I also enjoy helping people discover the French language and culture.
As a teacher, I’m patient, friendly and adaptable. My own experience as a learner helps me be understanding and aware of the difficulties you may face. I always create a safe and encouraging atmosphere. My goal is to help you feel comfortable and confident speaking French. Learning a new language should be fun and making mistakes is a natural part of the process!
In my previous French teaching experiences, I created personalised materials and guided students through grammar, conversation practice and real-life language situations. These experiences helped me build a structured and motivating teaching method.
My lessons are adapted to your level and your objectives. I pay close attention to what you need, what you enjoy, and what you want to improve.

I help students with grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversation, always adapting my approach to their level and personal goals. For example, I gave French lessons to an adult living in France who wanted to improve her communication skills to feel more confident at work.

석사 - JournalismThis Master's degree provided me with advanced knowledge in reporting, writing, and media production, and helped me develop strong analytical and communication skills.

석사 - French as a Foreign LanguageThis master's degree covers both the theory and practice of teaching French. I learn how to create lesson plans, teach vocabulary and grammar, practise speaking and writing, and adapt my lessons to the learners’ profiles and native languages. The program also includes courses on art, digital tools, and phonetics, providing a well-rounded approach to teaching.

2023 - 2025
JournalistBefore becoming a French teacher, I worked as a journalist for two years in a local newspaper. This experience helped me develop strong communication and writing skills, as well as the ability to explain ideas clearly and adapt to different people. It also gave me a deeper understanding of French culture and current events, which I sometimes include in my lessons through authentic materials.
