My name is Octavi and I am from a city nearby Barcelona, Spain. I studied Interpreting and Translation at the Pompeu Fabra Univeristy in Barcelona. I have a passion for languages, and I love to meet all kinds of people and talk about many subjects, including current events, culture, traveling, movies and tv, hobbies, pets, lifestyle, etc. Me llamo Octavi y soy de una ciudad cerca de Barcelona, España. Estudié interpretación y traducción en la Universitat Pompeu Fabra de Barcelona. Me apasionan los idiomas y me encanta conocer a todo tipo de gente. Me gusta hablar de muchos temas, incluyendo temas actuales, cultura, viajes, películas y tv, aficiones, mascotas, estilos de vida, etc. I have over 10 years of experience in teaching languages, mainly Spanish. Tengo más de 10 años de experiencia enseñando idiomas, principalmente español. I always adapt to my students needs. Personally, I believe in using the language from day 1 in a fun, safe, laid-back, welcoming environment where the student feels very relaxed and motivated to learn. Siempre me adapto a las necesidades de mis alumnos. Personalmente, creo en aprender usando el idioma desde el primer día en un ambiente divertido, seguro, relajado y acogedor en el que los alumnos se sienten relajados y motivados para aprender.

This was a wonderful first lesson. I felt very at ease speaking and testing the boundaries of what I could remember. I especially appreciated how Octavi allowed me time to "search" for the right Catalan word and only provided the word when I asked for help. I learned a lot from this lesson and would recommend him to others interested in Catalan!
