Matthias is the most encouraging teacher I have had on italki! He is really good at pushing you out of your comfort zone without making you feel scared or uncomfortable. I was able to speak French from the first couple of classes because I felt safe and supported. My test preparation classes are thought-through and the feedback on my mistakes is very useful because it helps me learn the logic behind the task (not just what's correct)!

Matthias is the French teacher of my dreams! I have been taking lessons with him consistently for the last 8 months, and during this time he has helped me immeasurably. My comprehension of both spoken and written French have improved enormously, and what I am most pleased about is that my ability to speak French with greater fluency is so much better. It is very clear that Matthias takes great pleasure in teaching French, and that he loves sharing his French culture and his life experiences. He customises each of my classes for my level and carefully prepares the materials he will use, for example spoken and written exercises, presentation slides, photos, videos, and all homework assignments. He is exceedingly patient, always enthusiastic and positive, and extremely kind. He is consistently well organised, and he is unfailingly passionate about teaching. I had a great class on professional French with Matthias today! He's very patient and tailored the lesson materials we used to my goals and our previous discussions. Today, we practiced professional introductions and a realistic role-play. He's very detailed when giving feedback on pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary and phrase choice.
