I am a Berlin-based communications manager working in the music industry. I am a classic TCK: Childhood in London, French by education, culturally Berliner and legally Brazilian, with a Honduran mum. I grew up speaking 4 languages at home (French, English, Portuguese, Spanish) and reached full fluency in German since moving to Berlin at 14. I am also comfortable in Italian, since I worked and studied there, too!
My professional background is as eclectic as my cultural one: I've worked in corporate finance, education, psychology, and in arts and entertainment.
These days, you can find me at live music gigs, writing, moving my body or hanging with my dog Ziggy.
I've taught a variety of topics in a variety of contexts. I've been a public middle school English teacher in the outskirts of Paris; I was a volunteer French teacher for a marginalised population with no knowledge of French; I was statistics TA for Psychology students; and I have helped many people improve their skills one-on-one. My favourite challenge is helping learners overcome their blockages and finding ways to connect with and motivate even the most disengaged students.
My English sits comfortably between British and American: I learned it in London, have American family, and spent every summer in the U.S., so I can help you shape whichever accent you prefer. I really enjoy learning with Nanda. She has a wide range of interests and many interesting topics to talk about, which makes every lesson engaging and dynamic. Thanks to Nanda's untiring interest in languages and knowledge in itself, her ability to maintain any conversation in a flow and an inspiring sense of agency, practising my speaking skills in the challenging contexts of social, political, and psychological topics inevitably becomes the highlight of my day. I greatly appreciate the way Nanda takes into account my personal interests and language learning goals to arrange the lessons accordingly, both for material-based and conversational classes. Even with the solid C1 being "the starting point" of my learning process, I leave our lessons with a bunch of new vocabulary and valuable insights, linguistic and otherwise. I'm looking forward to the next one and 100% recommend Nanda as a teacher :)

Nanda is a very kind, patient, and attentive teacher. She creates a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, which makes it easy to speak and express yourself. She is also very flexible and adapts the lessons to your needs and level.
I really enjoyed our conversations — they were engaging and interesting. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a supportive and friendly teacher.

I am looking forward to starting my "37 lessons in 37 weeks for my 37 years Project" (I need to think of a shorter name) with the teacher.
