Hi there! 👋 I’m Yana, a Ukrainian-Canadian professional teacher with 7+ years of specializing in confident, natural communication for professionals and youth (TESOL-certified, IELTS 8.5) My specialties are: - engaging students to speaki, write, and read to build a strong foundation; whether for exams, careers, or daily life. - focus on authentic conversations, nuanced expressions, and resolving your unique challenges. Let’s make English feel like a language that you can be fully yourself in! My approach to teaching is student-centered, interactive, and aimed at improving overall understanding and building a student's capacity for generating spontaneous speech in English. I started teaching as a volunteer, and eventually became a certified TESOL teacher in 2016. I started my career in Taiwan, teaching ESL to children who were new to English. Later, I started specializing in writing classes and math tutoring to ESL students looking to attend university abroad. I also have experience with adult classes, including conversational and business English.
