Jackie-san came through like a boss again today. Read my other reviews if you want an in depth look at how her lessons usually go, but today I didn't even request to learn anything specific before class like I usually do, but started asking a lot of questions from kanji, to nuances in grammar and she was able to explain everything perfectly without preparation. Normally, I try not to do that, but it's nice to know that she's perfectly able if needed. She's very well organized so any questions I may have on older material, she's able to pull it from the shared Google doc for review. I've tried several tutors and I rarely feel like I'm actually progressing my Japanese, but she crams so much into an hour lesson that I always fill an entire page of my notebook. I've noticed she's been getting booked a lot more recently. Give her a shot while she's still available. I wouldn't be surprised if she stays completely booked up in six months. There's a reason her students keep coming back.

Just had my fifth lesson with Jackie-sensei. She is always very encouraging, professional and always in good spirits. Our sessions are really productive - we get a lot done and I feel like I learn faster than I expect. She always provides lots of examples and encourages me to ask lots of questions, even if it means interrupting her. She's also super comfortable with English which helps a lot when she's explaining things to me. Happy to have found a teacher like Jackie :)

Lessons with Jackie are always a delight! Once again, I had my fair share of laughs while learning the language. Is there a better way to learn? :)

I’ve just finished my fourth lesson with Jackie-sensei, and I’m really happy with how things have been going so far. I was a bit nervous when I started, but she quickly put me at ease. Our classes have always had a light, pressure-free atmosphere, which makes me feel safe and comfortable enough to study at my own pace. I’m a slow learner, and I struggle quite a lot when speaking (including in English, since I’m not a native speaker) so I really appreciate how patient and understanding she has been with me. I honestly can’t thank her enough for that. She’s also incredibly flexible and always takes the time to answer any questions I have. Even when I come to her with what might be considered unrealistic goals, she takes them seriously and actively tries to help me work towards them. :) I’m really looking forward to my next lessons and to continuing to improve with her! :)

Worked through a worksheet made by Jackie which was really helpful. And learned some Japanese expressions like ペーパードライバー and 決まったぜ、小松！which was really fun!
