I had a great second lesson with Filippo! Filippo has a true passion for film that really shines through, and his cinema-focused lessons are a great way to both learn more about film (especially Italian film) and also have a new and interesting topic to cover in each class. Filippo is very prepared for each lesson and even sends discussion questions in advance to offer an opportunity for additional writing practice or help prepare for discussion. He does a great job facilitating discussion during the lesson and provides a good balance of letting the conversation flow and giving feedback. Would definitely recommend, especially for intermediate/advanced learners who are looking for additional exposure to native materials/natural dialogue through film. Grazie mille!

Excellent and new way to learn a new language -- discuss film! It's innovative and creative and becuase i love film and want to learn Italian, it's a perfect fit for me. Filipe hosts over 165 movies and they are a treasure to watch and discuss with hiim. Highly recommend this unique approach!

Over the past few months, I was preparing for an Italian-language entrance exam for university in Italy. A month before the exam, my previous teacher ended our collaboration and I was left without help. That’s when I found Filippo — and we instantly “clicked.” He started teaching me Italian during the final stretch before the exam, and he’s still doing it. I passed the exam;) Filippo is a great conversation partner — we talk about everything: music, Formula 1, politics, even philosophy. After each lesson, he updates my personal “dictionary” in Notion with new phrases or tricky topics — super helpful, especially for making flashcards. He always speaks Italian, which kind of forces you to speak too — and that’s great. Of course, if something is really unclear, he’ll switch to English for a moment — no worries. I’m really happy with our collaboration and I’m glad to keep it going:)
