Hi, I'm Josh, a native English speaker and fluent Mandarin speaker from Australia. I'm a TEFL qualified teacher with years of teaching experience both online and offline.
I'm an avid traveller who loves learning languages and about other cultures. As an Australian, I love spending time at the beach.
I don't teach business English. My classes cover exam (IELTS) preparation, conversation practice and job interview preparation.

I'm a language learner myself, so I thoroughly understand the difficulties of learning another language and use this understanding to inform my teaching. I'm particularly adept at addressing common problems for Chinese speaking students given my knowledge of the Chinese language.
I'm an encouraging and patient teacher, who enjoys helping students overcome linguistic problems. I believe that lessons should revolve around my students, not myself. I tailor lessons to suit my students' needs and use a variety of resources.
我自己也热爱学习外语，因此我深入理解学习外语的困难，并将这种理解运用到我的教学中。鉴于我对中文的了解，我尤其擅长解决中国学生的常见问题。

From mid-January to mid-February, I had to prepare urgently for my IELTS Speaking retake, and Josh helped me improve by 1.5 bands in just 1 month, and yes, it was really 1.5 band in 1 month. I had tried a few other teachers, but Josh stood out with his dedication and support. He’s friendly, patient, and especially never lets me speak alone. I was impressed by well-made intro video, and his teaching didn’t disappoint. I’m still learning with him and honestly have nothing to complain about. This is just my genuine experience, no exaggeration, trust me :). Much respect and gratitude to Josh!

For any Chinese students, Josh is definitely your first choice for an English teacher! He has a deep understanding of both Chinese and English, making it easy to explain concepts clearly. Josh is incredibly patient and kind, especially when correcting my pronunciation mistakes. Without his guidance, I wouldn’t have even noticed the issues in my pronunciation. Highly recommend him!

If you have a class with josh, he is very funny and you can get a lot of knowledge about many other topic, not just english speaking. He usually use someting interesting photo to directing you to learn. He is a great teacher!!

I was nervous before every class, but I was able to get into the mood quickly with the guidance of the teacher. The friendly and relaxed atmosphere feels like talking to an old friend who has known you for a long time. In class, there will also be special pictures and corresponding teaching materials to accurately touch the language knowledge.😇😇
