Excellent class. I learn so much vocabulary in Melissa’s class. Melissa helps me become confident because she gives me more words to express my thoughts. Every class is interesting and different because we cover many useful topics that I can use in my daily life. After class I always copy the characters and pinyin she gives me because it helps me retain the vocabulary. I highly recommend Melissa as a teacher. She is also helping my husband and he is becoming so much better in his speaking.

I have really enjoyed working with Melissa. She's warm, friendly and encouraging. I began working with her ahead of a trip to Taiwan, to brush up on my Chinese, but plan to continue working with her afterwards to improve my fluency. I would highly recommend Melissa!

Melissa makes very efficient use of lesson time. I just had a 30-minute lesson with her so she could see what level my Chinese is and she still managed to squeeze a vocabulary lesson into that short time. Her English level is very high, so she has no trouble understanding you if you need to say something in English. But she's a good teacher because she still speaks Chinese even when you as the student drift into English. She keeps you feeling like you are immersed in a Chinese conversation, so your brain won't revert back to English thinking and lose the Chinese state of mind.
