Gabriele

I have been studying with Gabriele for more than two years. He is an excellent teacher. He consistently pushes me to exceed my own expectations. He deftly constructs lessons from my mistakes so that I can truly learn from them. I highly recommend this teacher to students at any level who are serious about improving their Italian and are motivated to work at it.

I have been taking weekly lessons with Gabriele for a little over a year now. At this stage, I am interested in learning how to sound natural to a native speaker. Learning it outside of Italy is challenging - grammatically correct sentences might still sound a “off” in Italian. Gabriele acts as a perfect sounding board catching these inadequacies and offering better-sounding solutions. I think Gabriele is a great fit to explore language subtleties. He pays scrupulous attention to detail and has an extensive knowledge of linguistics and general culture. Gabriele gives me every chance to find solutions on my own but offers help when he sees I am at the end of my wits. He makes me an active part of the learning process by encouraging me to discover a pattern or to spot a mistake. Our lessons are a perfect balance of structure (textbook) and flexibility (free flowing conversations), usually a combo of both, which results in an hour passing really quick! Highly recommend!

I enjoyed the Italian lessons with Gabriele very much, they're a good mix of casual conversations for practice and grammar exercises to keep the lessons structured and engaging. Gabriele is easy to talk to and very knowledgeable about different countries and cultures, so there's no trouble finding interesting subjects of conversation each week. His experience with language teaching and foreign languages is noticeable since he seemed to have a good feel for common misunderstandings with certain words and phrases and made sure to doublecheck them accordingly.
