I feel so much better about my Spanish because of my lessons with Sofia! We do a mix of conversational and grammatical lessons. I’m about to go on a trip to a Spanish speaking country and I feel like I’m as ready as I can possibly be for this experience. Thank you for your help!

I’ve tried many teachers on italki and other platforms, and Sofia is one of the best. Most other teachers either have no lesson plan or they strictly follow a boring workbook, whereas Sofia’s classes are very dynamic and you can tell she cares a lot about your progress. She’s always on time, with good internet, and will try to accommodate to your schedule. Since she is also a big traveler herself, she can relate to a lot of travel experiences around the world and knows what it’s like to navigate through different languages and cultures. I highly recommend Sofia as a teacher and thanks to her, my standards for recognizing high quality teachers has increased.

Sofia is a wonderful Spanish teacher! I have been taking classes with her for a little over a year, and I have improved so much in my confidence and Spanish speaking skills. She thoughtfully selects articles, short stories, and videos for me to read or watch before class and she individualizes things to my language level and interests. I'm always amazed by how quickly she responds to messages and incorporates my ideas or questions for future class topics. I would recommend Sofia's classes to anyone - it's such a fun and interesting way to improve my Spanish!

There are several things that make Sofia a great teacher. Just to name a few: I am learning a lot of culture during our classes, so it's never dry. And she does this in a carefully curated way, so I am not overwhelmed by grammar and vocabulary. General discussions on how our week went are really enjoyable. Sofia is great at reading the room: she sees when you try to express yourself, helps you out, and reacts in a supportive way. It doesn't feel exaggerated, and she is super friendly. Also, she tailors the classes to you. After a while, you get to know each other, and she includes your interests / hobbies into your lessons. She knows how to transition smoothly from general conversations to her own material, which is just nice. You don't feel forced, interrupted, or that you cannot express yourself enough. Also, if you struggle with a certain aspect of the language, she puts extra effort into revising those parts. All in all, I highly recommend her :)

Sofia is so brilliant, I don't want go to any other teacher for the rest of my life now. No one would even come close.
