Hey everyone! My name is Damon, I am an American English teacher with 2 years of teaching experience in Zhuhai, China. I have also been on Italki for more than 4 years. Letter of Recommendation - Think English Kids - 2020This is a letter of recommendation from my first boss in China outlining what my job responsibilities were at the time. I hope that this will finally allow me to become a professional teacher on the website as I have been applying for the position for more than three months now.

TEFL Certificate - I-to-I - 2020This was a 120-hour course designed to ready the participants to teach in classrooms across the world as the primary English teacher in the room. At the end I had to take and pass both a written exam and multiple choice exam about teaching methods and various parts of English Grammar. The tests were personally graded by professional members of the staff to guarantee that it met their strict standards.

TEFL Certificate - Oxford Seminars - 2018It was an intensive 100-hour in-person course. We were required to attend eight hour days full of classes as well as a practicum that we had to demonstrate at the end of the course in order to pass their requirements and receive the TEFL certificate.

ESL InstructorThis experience was incredibly helpful for me as it was my first job teaching English in a foreign country. I learned the key skills that have helped me to connect to so many students and to help improve their lives in more ways than just using English.
2019 - 2020
Foreign Cultural and Language ExpertThis was my first job working for a private organization and it definitely helped me in many ways, I had more responsibilities and larger groups of students to teach. I learned how to interact with not only the students and my coworkers, but how to also talk to the parents of said students. My people skills definitely improved as well as my teaching skills.

ESL InstructorI have been working on Italki since 2020, and since then I have worked with hundreds of students to improve their English capabilities. I normally focus on grammar and pronunciation classes, but I have also helped students with interviews and business projects as well.
