Hello! I'm Daniel. I'm from Australia but I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I enjoy learning languages and travelling to foreign destinations because both of these things give me an insight into how other people live which is essential for building a more tolerant and harmonious global community. I love being active and close to nature, so in my free time I like to go cycling or hiking. What brings me most joy, however, is being in the ocean. So, most of the time you can find me at the beach trying to catch some waves. Reading is another favourite hobby of mine with books about language, culture, and history being my preferred topics to peruse.

After studying languages and linguistics at university I trained as a teacher of English as a foreign language and started my first job at an English college in Sydney. There, I had the pleasure to teach students of all levels, ages, and backgrounds. From there I came to Brazil where I've mostly taught private lessons to adults at their home or workplace as well as some group classes at a local English college. During this time I also spent a year away in Saudi Arabia giving group classes to young Arab men in the capital Riyadh.

The content of our lessons will mostly depend on the student and their particular areas of interest, weaknesses and goals. As such, classes will be highly personalised and tailored to students' requirements. As a language-learner myself, I am acutely aware of the struggles faced by students while trying to attain proficiency in their target language and I strive to address those problems through friendly conversation, exercises, and maybe a little homework too. In summary our lessons will be focused and productive but also relaxed and friendly.

Daniel is an exceptional English teacher. I have been studying with him for several years, and during this time, my English has improved tremendously. When I speak with native English speakers now, I no longer feel intimidated. Instead, I am more natural, bold, and precise in expressing my thoughts. Daniel has always been there to correct my mistakes and offers me alternative ways of saying things, including some very authentic idioms. He truly is a rare and invaluable teacher.

My teacher encouraged me to speak English the whole time, making the necessary corrections when necessary, and clarified many of my doubts about pronunciation, writing and conjugations, in a light, pleasant and informal way, once again meeting all of my expectations. I am eagerly awaiting the start of the next classes so that I can continue my studies to become fluent in the English language.

In addition to the resources mentioned, my teacher provided me with several examples and encouraged me to talk about various experiences I had throughout my life. He encouraged me to speak without embarrassment. I am very satisfied with the classes.
