My name is Charles, and I live in the United States now, after many years in France. Before living in France, I lived in Belgium, Germany, Austria and Taiwan. I work as a translator and in book publishing. I have worked as a teacher of French and English language and literature in France and the US, in the private sector, in public schools, and at universities.

I have taught English and French as second languages in various capacities, as well as Francophone and American literature. My goal is to build a comfortable, warm environment for my students, where they feel able to speak freely and use the language as much as possible. I rely heavily on authentic language source material to help the student build a personal connection with the language, and those who speak it.
NB: I am only available to teach adults, and not well-suited for absolute beginners.

I focus on intermediate and advanced students seeking to build oral fluency, as I use an immersive method that depends on circumlocution meant to build students' comfort in speaking their target language, and developing strategies to better their communication.
Je me spécialise dans l'apprentissage aux élèves de niveaux intermédiaires et avancés qui cherchent à perfectionner leurs compétences orales. La méthode que j'utilise est basée sur le principe de l'immersion. C'est-à-dire qu'on reste dans la langue cible pendant le cours, et on se sert de la circonlocution, au lieu de la traduction, afin de renforcer ses capacités orales, et développer des stratégies pour mieux communiquer.내 수업 자료
