Shinegi Duong 先生

Duong is a good teacher and is patient with me. And takes time to explain things. She gives me exercises for homework. This can be listening exercises or writing a short text. She puts class notes in a google doc for my later reference. She also has created a document with slides with pictures to explain words. Sometimes uses Youtube or Google images to explanation as well. Good teacher!

Great lesson with Shinegi! We worked a lot on pronunciation today, specifically the difference between a, â, and ă. We used many examples to practice. I really started to hear the difference and be able to pronounce the sounds properly. Shinegi also gave me the materials so that I can practice. Listening and speaking is helping me to improve. Thanks to Shinegi for helping me with pronunciation!

Great lesson with Shinegi! We did a translation exercise, where I had to take a dialog in English and change it to Vietnamese. It was really good practice, because I was able to translate more of it than I thought I could. Shinegi also updated our shared document to add useful "classroom vocabulary", which I thought was helpful. Next, we practiced pronunciation of similar-sounding initial consonants. Shinegi is doing a nice job of helping me develop a correct pronunciation. She also has a lot of positive energy and makes the lesson fun!

Great lesson with Shinegi! We focused on the pronunciation between e and ê. The sounds are very similar but Shinegi explained and demonstrated multiple times. I will need to practice but now I know what I need to practice. Shinegi has focused on listening, which also is helping my pronunciation. Shinegi is patient and encouraging even as I make mistakes, which I really appreciate her help and support!
