I am an English teacher, a language lover, and an aesthete (especially cinema/theater). I am fascinated by art, culture, languages, history, people, and what I learn from them.

Good communication, good articulation mean a lot to me. No matter how much you know, how much you have acquired, if you are not good at articulating yourself, your effort may not be enough especially in teaching. In that sense, teaching is always more than transmitting knowledge. A teacher always represents an identity regardless of different learning settings. Looking upon my student years, teachers whom I admired are not those who perhaps know the most but the ones who could express themselves the best. 내 강의 및 지도 스타일
Language is the tool to communicate, it is a medium. It should never be seen as a purpose. That's why it should be used to master it. Practice matters the most. I tend to give my students a solved part of a puzzle and help them solve the rest using the pieces I give them. I myself have been in situations that I was helplessly trying to express myself even in minor matters. I got to understand that learning a language is really tough. That's why I am very understanding. I believe in repetition and the fact that learning takes some time. Merely for acquiring one single new word, one goes through several stages, Luckily, I am very patient.내 수업 자료

I've been learning Turkish for 3 months with Serhan and I see quite an improvement in my learning process. He is a great teacher: well prepared, patient, creative (lessons are never the same), and the most important, he knows how to make the Turkish grammar understable and logical. He knows a lot about the language and always brings interesting cultural insights, such as songs and movies recommendations, and diverse topics to discuss. I always look forward to the classes with him!
