I’m John - a certified IELTS teacher and former examiner with over 11 years of experience helping students improve their Speaking and Writing skills. Whether you’re aiming for university, work, or immigration, I’ll help you get the score you need.
In our lessons, we’ll use official IELTS materials, real exam tasks, and clear, personalised feedback so you know exactly what to improve. I’ll show you what examiners are really looking for - and how to give it to them.

I’ve been teaching English for 11 years, and most of that time I’ve helped students prepare for the IELTS exam. I’ve worked with learners from many different countries to improve their Speaking and Writing skills.
I also spent two years with the British Council in China, where I supported the IELTS Speaking and Writing exams. Until recently, I continued working online with the British Council, helping students get ready for their tests. This experience has given me a deep understanding of how the exam is marked and what examiners look for.
Because of this, I consider myself an IELTS Specialist. I’m here to support you with clear advice, personalised feedback, and focused practice.내 강의 및 지도 스타일
My classes are one-to-one, so you’ll always have my full attention. Since our goal is to pass an official exam, everything we do will be focused on that — no time wasted.
Before we begin, I’ll carry out a short evaluation to check your level. This helps us find the right starting point and plan your learning effectively.
I use only official IELTS materials, and we’ll work on every part of the exam. Whether we meet on Zoom, Google Hangouts, or the italki classroom, each lesson will feel like a real English workout — challenging but supportive.

I had a few lessons with John for my CAE Advanced preparation. I enjoyed his approach to the lesson organisation. Today we worked on inverion and other useful topics for the exam. John is one of a kind and second to none. Not only does he have a huge array of all the necessary materials to prepare you for an exam, but, most importantly, John is very patient and progress-focused. One who decides to study with him, will see the growth in English in no time.
Every lesson that I ever had with John was bursting with various vocabulary that benefited me both inside and outside the classroom. Hadn’t it been for John, I wouldn’t have even dreamt about passing CAE successfully. During our lessons we were mastering all the aspects of my future exam. John was always ready to answer tricky questions and provide support when I was panicking (and I was panicking a lot). Now I set a goal to take CPE, and I wasn't thinking long and hard about who I’d take this journey with.
If you are still considering whether to start lessons with John, don’t hesitate any longer. John is a marvelous teacher and he has a lot to give.

John is an excellent teacher. I have had a good experience learning English. He tries to encourage you to improve step by step, with a lot of patience, humor, and enthusiasm. He concentrates on correcting you when you speak and gives you support. I recommend his lessons because they are fun and of high quality.
