Hi! My name is Loisel and I am 35 years old.
I live in Toronto with my husband and my son.
I was born in the Philippines and lived in Hong Kong for 4 years when I was a teenager.
Reading, singing, and playing board games are some of my favourite activities. I'm also quite outdoorsy so I'm into camping, hiking and generally just being out and about in nature.지도 경험
I have been an ESL teacher for 10 years.
I have taught all levels, ages and most nationalities.
I have taught at 7 schools.
I first taught in Shanghai, China, but I prefer teaching international classes in my city, Toronto, because it is more interesting, dynamic and fun.
I am very patient, intuitive and creative with my students. I will correct you after you've finished your thought, and I will teach you exactly what you need at the moment of speaking.내 강의 및 지도 스타일
In my lessons, my main priority is to keep my learners engaged and motivated.
How will I do this?
1. Needs Assessment: I will get to know your interests, language goals, strengths, weaknesses and learning style.
2. I will keep the lessons interesting, fun and creative. (pictures, stories, games, & tongue twisters)
3. I will limit my teacher talk time (TTT) to correcting and clarifying the grammar, so you have plenty of opportunity to practice.
4. I will test you when you don't expect it.
5. I will give you tips about how to learn and practice English on your own as I have a lot of resources.
6. I can give you prompts, assignments, questions and study points before class so you can prepare.내 수업 자료

CELTA - Greystone College - 20166 hours of observed classes, essays, peer observation and feedback and supervised lessons planning. This intensive course taught me more about lesson planning, classroom management and language teaching pedagogies, which helped me in improving my methodology.

ESL teacherI was teaching beginner and pre-intermediate levels to adults up to the age of 50. My focus as a teacher was to help students use English practically and to help them prepare for KET Cambridge exams. I planned for fun, engaging lessons while balancing their academic studies with social activities.

ESL teacherWorking at this school opened a lot of doors for me, including training in teaching communication skills, public speaking and academic and exam preparation. I enjoyed the dynamic collection of teachers and the constant development in their education system. I found the monthly level and class changes challenging and constructive in my adaptability and professional growth. I completed an 11 week CELTA teacher training course at their affiliated college, Greystone College.

I have had nearly 30 classes with Loisel since I started my English-learning on italki…. AND I intended to keep booking her courses as she is one of the BEST teachers that I have met.
One thing that Loisel differs from other teachers is that she would design a systematic and tailor-made learning plan for her students.
She would correct my mistakes and write down all the key points during our conversation, instead of just chatting and letting me make the same mistake over and over again.
She is a lovely and sophisticated teacher who cares about her students.
I seldom write reviews but I‘m happy to have the chance to write this one, because I hope more people will know that it's fun to take Loisel's class so it's definitely worth it!

Loisel is an excellent teacher. She explains extremely well. I’ve been taking English lessons from her for about 7 months (28 so far). The lessons are very lively and Loisel has always tried to talk about topics that inspire me. Sometimes I make grammatical or pronunciation mistakes even though she has already explained to me several times how to avoid them, she explains them again each time with great patience and kindness. I’ve also learned many collocations, idioms, etc... And above all, she tells me when I express myself in a way that doesn't seem natural for a native speaker, and then gives me one or more examples to express my sentence in a more natural way.

I've just had a fantastic experience in Loisel's class! I was given a lot of useful and practical advice to help me improve my speaking skills and fluency. The lesson was focused and straight to the point. I highly recommend taking lessons with Loisel, especially if you want to increase your confidence in speaking English!

Loisel is highly efficient in class. The teaching content is presented in a concise and clear manner, making it easy for students to understand. What's remarkable is that the teacher has no accent and sounds like a native speaker, which provides students with an excellent language model. Communication in class is smooth, and the teacher is enthusiastic, always able to arouse students' interest and active participation. Overall, it's a great learning experience with this teacher.
