My name's Helen, and I'm a CELTA certified (Cambridge University) English teacher with a Master's Degree in Teaching English and over 11 years of experience.
I live in Kelowna, BC, Canada & work as an English teacher for immigrants to Canada at Vancouver College Educacentre. Before that, I taught at an Immigrant Centre at Red River College in Winnipeg. My favorite exams are IELTS & TOEFL :-) I took IELTS in Canada myself, and my overall score was 8,5.
I think the most common obstacle in the way of language learning is a fear of making mistakes. Therefore, you have to accept yourself and mustn’t allow your emotions or other people to make you feel stressed out.지도 경험
I’ve been teaching English for over 14 years. I am currently teaching English at Vancouver College Educacentre, BC, Canada.
I got a Master's Degree in Teaching English in 2009 & started to work as an English teacher at an English School. I completed a CELTA course in 2017. Since then, I’ve been teaching people from different countries (China, India, Chile, etc.). I was Head Teacher at Los Angeles English School & at that position my responsibilities also included lesson planning, improving the syllabus of the school and observing other teachers in the classroom. Besides teaching General & Business English, I prepare students for IELTS & TOEFL professionally.내 강의 및 지도 스타일
I teach all levels (from Beginners up to Advanced learners) by Communicative&Direct Methods.
The main feature of these approaches is a complex of questions, videos, exercises, texts and audio which are joined together and directed at providing students with the ability to comprehend and speak real-life English. The complex was built in such a way that all necessary words and grammar can be easily remembered.
I also prepare students for IELTS&TOEFL so that they can score high. I took IELTS in Canada myself and my overall score is 8,5.

I highly recommend Helen as a teacher for IELTS preparation. Lessons are always very nice structured so during the lesson you spend time in the most effective and educative way. Helen does not only provide learning materials like student books and workbooks, but also prepares for you special materials like videos and presentations devoted to better understanding of the lesson's topic. During the lesson Helen shares theoretical information about the exam, and also tips and examples for completing tasks in order to get a maximum score. Most importantly, she gives you instant feedback on your work: correcting mistakes while you're speaking and giving detailed review on your essays for the writing part of the exam. Not to mention, that Helen is a very nice and friendly person so during her lessons you are always staying in a good mood.

Helen is really great teacher. We have completed a few lessons for a month. This is my first experience with İtalki and Helen. I was hesitating and I had some worries about speaking with foreigner. However, I have become calm thanks to Helen. We determined my English level in the first lesson and started to lessons. She gives me her own notes, recommendations about youtube videos. I am happy to have a lesson with her. I strongly recommend her

I had an excellent experience with Helen for private English classes. The lessons were personalized and focused on the areas that I need improve. Helen, made each lesson interesting and interactive,using various of teaching methods. Their patience and encouragement helped build my confidence, especially in speaking. Constructive feedback was always given kindly, which made learning enjoyable. The flexible scheduling was very suitable for me. After one year my level increases from pre-intermediate to advance. I also noticed significant improvements in my fluency. My vocabulary has expanded, and I feel more confident in social life.
