I grew up in Lebanon in an amalgam of cultures, languages, and traditions. Since I was a child, I have been exposed to both Lebanese and French culture, as Lebanon is a place where oriental and occidental cultures meet. In 2019, I moved to Prague for my studies, and I am now based between Beirut and Prague. I studied arts and have a master’s in directing of alternative theater. I am interested in all types of arts and sports (I also am an experienced horseback rider), and I have a deep love for traveling and discovering new cultures. So one thing I find great about Italki is to be able to meet people from around the world even while being at home ;) I really believe that practicing as much as possible and making mistakes is the best way to learn a language! 😄 I have been teaching on Italki since November 2020, and I have met a lot of people from around the world, kids and adults; beginners and advanced speakers. I am patient and know how important it is to repeat things for them to be clearly understood and remembered. I also know that each person has their own way of learning, so I adapt to whatever is best for you. I have been learning Spanish, German, and Czech, so I have experience when it comes to discovering new words and pronunciation. I will guide you through French sounds and spellings step by step, at your own rhythm. Each lesson is adapted to your personal needs and preferred learning methods. Chatting with Mara is always so relaxed and helpful. She's very easy-going, and at the same time, she takes me and my learning seriously and goes above and beyond to be helpful. I really appreciate that she is very thoughtful and generous. She does a fantastic job without coming on too strong, so it's always a productive, but easy and low-stakes, way to get some conversation practice.
