🌸Marika🌸

I had reached a plateau in my Japanese studies, so I began weekly Japanese lessons with Marika in November 2024. Right now, she is helping me improve my reading comprehension by studying news articles. Since I started lessons with Marika, I am retaining information much better. Also, I'm having fun and my motivation is higher! I highly recommend Marika.

This was my first lesson with Marika sensei. Marika sensei was very polite and very accommodating. I can imagine it is quite difficult to meet someone and within a few minutes be able to start a productive lesson, but Marika sensei was amazing and our lesson was very productive. Marika sensei's pronunciation and intonation was crystal clear, which is very helpful when doing this type of practice. I am looking forward to having more lessons with Marika sensei. 今日は本当にありがとうございました。また次のレッスンに会いましょう。

I really enjoyed the lesson. I decently was nervous, but Marika was very calm, which made it easy for me to focus on the lesson. I really felt like I was starting to gain an understanding of the material. I appreciate her teaching style, and I would recommend taking at least one lesson.

Marika先生 is the best of the best! She’s very patient and very helpful. You can definitely improve your Japanese with her! まりか先生は素敵な先生です！おすすめです！とても辛抱強くて、親切に教えてくれます。まりか先生と一緒に勉強すれば、自分の日本語のレベルが絶対に上がります！

Marika-sensei made conversation the whole time and I learned some new phrases, but it sometimes felt a bit stilted or awkward. I would prefer a teacher who seems more engaged and energetic.

She was helpful but there were many awkward moments where we were just staring at each other. I wanted someone to have conversation practice with but also some sort of structured content to avoid the awkwardness. Perhaps if I had attended a structured class my encounter would have been different? But she was very nice and helpful
