I am a Mandarin Chinese and Hokkien/Taiwanese native speaker who has been teaching Chinese and English for many years. Studying new languages and learning about new cultures has always been an interest of mine. I am currently studying Japanese, and I have studied a few other languages, so I understand the types of difficulties language learners can encounter.
我是一位已經教中文和英語多年的中文及臺語母語人士。學習新的語言和文化一直是我的興趣之一，現在我正在學習日語，我也曾經學習過一些其他的語言，所以我能夠明白語言學習者會遇到的困難類型。지도 경험
I am a qualified Mandarin Chinese teacher who has been teaching Chinese for several years. I have been teaching and tutoring Mandarin Chinese online since 2018, I also have experience tutoring Mandarin Chinese in the language center of a National University in Taiwan. I teach both simplified and traditional Chinese. I’m able to personalize the courses based on your interests, ability and learning pace whether you’re a beginner or an advanced learner. I’m an open-minded and patient teacher who is also fluent in English.
我是一位已經教學多年的合格中文老師。我從2018年開始一直在線上教學與輔導中文，而且我也有在臺灣國立大學語言中心輔導中文的經驗。我能夠進行簡體中文和繁體中文教學。不論你是初學者或是進階學習者，我能夠根據你的興趣、能力和學習步調提供個人化課程。我也是一位能說流利英語，思想開明、耐心的老師。내 강의 및 지도 스타일
I offer a variety of lessons, some of which include general conversation, pronunciation, listening practice, writing, vocabulary and grammar. I use a diverse array of teaching materials which I can adapt depending on the students’ goals.

Another excellent lesson with Serena, I feel my ability to communicate my thoughts and experiences in Mandarin has improved greatly since I started studying with Serena. Our classes always have a relaxed atmosphere, where I can ask questions and not be afraid to make mistakes, I cannot recommend Serena highly enough!

I just finished my second lesson with Serena, and she deserves all the stars I can give her and more! She is the most organized private teacher I have had in Chinese, which makes the lessons a dream and gives me a clear direction in which to work to improve. For our conversational lessons, she prepares materials for me to revise ahead of time, and then does a great job in leading the conversation during the lesson, allowing me to use the new vocabulary and concepts from the materials. At the same time, she keeps track of all the words and sentences I struggle with and need to revise, but in a way that doesn't disrupt the flow of the lesson or conversation at all.
