No words can describe how much I enjoy my lessons with 지은 씨. It’s no wonder she has so many students and is ranked the top 1% of Korean teachers on Italki. If you are looking for a teacher who can be a friend, cater to your needs, encourage you, and root for you 100% of the time then 지은 씨 is your girl. No matter what she shows up to our sessions with a smile on her face and never fails to put a smile on mine. Not only is she extremely kind but she motivates and inspires me to keep going. On days when I was feeling discouraged and that I wasn’t improving my skills, she always reassured me and gave me the push to not give up. She makes me feel comfortable speaking even when I know I will completely botch the words, but she is patient and kind. It would be a mistake not to consider 지은 씨 as your teacher. Much love!!!

In just 6 lessons over 3 weeks with Jieun, my Korean has greatly improved, especially my spoken Korean. There is much to appreciate about Jieun. Let’s start with the aspects that are table stakes. It's my 10th lesson with Jieun seongsaengnim. She remains one of the best teachers I have ever met on italki. She is always so well prepared, attentive, patient, engaging and, last but not least, charming. :) Every time we would have free talking for half an hour and then spend another half an hour going through and correcting the sentences I have made as homework, using grammatical patterns that I have learnt previously from other Korean courses. Every time Jieun seongsaengnim will type a full set of notes on google document which I can take away for revision and further study. Knowing that I am still not confident about my pronunciation, she will also ask me read aloud after her in class and send me the recordings afterwards. She is extremely helpful and I would highly recommend her!

Jieun is super friendly, kind, and encouraging. Clearly has a lot of experience with teaching and is able to teach without pausing conversation/making things awkward! Very humble, and personable!

I have been studying with Jieun on and off (due to personal reasons) since 2021. Every single class with her made a tremendous impact on my language journey. Jieun is always well prepared for classes. In fact, I can just tell her what I want to go through during our class, and she will organize everything. As for personality, Jieun is fun to be around. She deeply cares about each of her students and answers every question thoroughly - she is a coach and will motivate you both as a teacher and coach.
