Eri

We learned a song by vaundy, translating the lyrics and trying to catch the pronunciation. Then I tried to play through with my guitar. This was really fun and I found that I understood quite a lot.

Today was our first lesson. We did some introductions, reviewed my existing knowledge, set out some goals and decided on which materials we would work with. My hope is to take the N5 exam in December and the N4 in July next year but I’d like to work faster if possible as I have some basic knowledge already.

It was a really good first lesson! I am a complete beginner with Japanese but Eri-san is extremely patient and encouraging. I was very nervous at the beginning but our short conversation about Studio Ghibli movies broke the ice :) I'm looking forward to learning more!

We recapped some of the introduction and language from last time and tried to expand on it. I think my understanding has improved a little already. We will do some learning using irodori next time to consolidate the language we covered so far.

I enjoyed the discussion with Eri today. We talked about Youtube, Instagram and setting up accounts for language learning. We also brainstormed ideas which is a great way to expand learning the language.

I had great conversation with えりさん today. えりさん shared an interesting word with me なまら which is similar to とても。 We also read the manga a bit and had more conversations and laughs.
