As an experienced teacher, I am approachable, friendly, and patient. I have several years of online Japanese teaching experience. I have helped my students with their job interviews, JLPT preparation, and also essay writing. I particularly enjoy helping with conversation skills using natural expressions. I take a learner centred approach and use a communicative style in which students have a lot of speaking practice.내 강의 및 지도 스타일
My teaching style is generally informal and friendly. You will have conversation-based lessons and after each lesson you will receive feedback and lesson notes to review what you have learnt. I do not take a traditional language learning approach. Instead of relying on textbooks, we practise sentence patterns so that you can say what you want to say in natural Japanese. Student motivation is essential for these lessons. Come and enjoy practising Japanese with me.

I am really impressed with how intuitive Aki-san is- she always picks up on the things that I'm struggling with, even if I don't realize what they are. Really fun lesson with Aki talking about how loud big cities are, the relaxing sounds of nature, the basics of learning a language, as well as sketching and creativity. Each and every lesson with her is an absolute pleasure. She’s always so incredibly fun to chat with and always gives great notes and explanations to help me continuously improve!

If you are looking for not only an incredible teacher, but also an incredible human, Aki-sensei is the person you're looking for. I've studied with many teachers on italki, and no one makes me feel more comfortable. She is patient, great at continuing a conversation, an expert at explaining unknown Japanese words/ phrases in Japanese, and most importantly she makes me more passionate about learning the language.
My lessons with Aki are primarily conversation practice-based. However, I have provided vocal lists or grammar points that I have struggled with in the past and she was able to explain them and integrate them into our conversation practice.
I think if you are seeking conversation practice and to build speaking confidence (like me), Aki is the best teacher for you.

Great lesson with Aki talking about traveling during Golden Week, dog sitting, volunteering, and dangerous insects and animals. Lessons with Aki are always such a fun and rewarding experience. Always great conversation coupled with lots of great notes and feedback!
