Hello, this is your native Chinese tutor. You can call me Shenglan. Here are some facts about myself: -Besides Chinese, I can speak fluent English, Russian (it's my major in university) and a little bit French. -As an individual, I have interest in photographing, reading(especially non-fictions) and writing! I would love to show you my small pieces of articles if you want. -I am a big fan of art movies. If you happen to love movies, I would love to recommend you some fantastic Chinese movies!! My dream right now is to be a full-time Chinese teacher online, then I can live where I'd love to like a digital nomad.

I'm patient, but also strict with students. I believe that it's the responsibility for a teacher to point out the mistakes, shortcomings so that to help the students improve themselves more efficiently. Currently I mainly provide spoken courses, in which I will prepare some topics that include some issues recently widely being discussed in China to help you with your spoken Chinese. Besides, if you are preparing for an HSK test, I can also help with that. Don’t worry if you just start to learn Chinese, because I also design courses(HSK) for beginners. Anyway, no matter what your Chinese level is, I will come up with a plan especially for you to help achieve your language learning goal：)

Lessons with Shenglan are amazing. She is really organized and engaged in class, and is very patient and supportive with corrections and explanations. I don’t think I have ever had a teacher who is so active during class asking questions and driving the conversation in order to make me produce more, and then continuously noting my errors while I am talking so we can review them later. Every lesson is a real joy to attend, and I get great feedback on what to improve for next time.

Shenglan is an excellent teacher - one of the best I had during the last 10 years! In the beginning, I mentioned that my main goal is to improve my speaking. Shenglan took note of this and is extremely good at guiding the conversation in such a way that I speak as much as possible - which is brilliant. Whenever I struggle with a word, she is able to help me very quickly by helping me express my thoughts correctly (I never have to explain what I mean). Shenglan's Youtube blog is tremendously helpful, as it can serve as a platform for our conversations (besides being super interesting in its own right). In just a few sessions, I have felt my Chinese speaking skills improve! The Chinese lesson with Shenglan is always the highlight of my day.

I'm currently undertaking the HSK structured course with Shenglan as my tutor and it's been a great learning experience! The lessons follow all the aspects of the HSK structure and each lesson is tailored to address any specific areas whereby improvement is needed. Shenglan is highly knowledgeable, friendly and above all very patient with your learning as she really wants you to succeed. 加油 She provides lots of interesting facts regarding modern and ancient China and provides helpful information regarding the derivation of characters to help you memorise them. Shenglan provides detailed feedback and a copy of the presentation after each lesson. She also tailors video and app recommendations in order for you to continue to improve during self-study and will even provide bespoke learning materials for you to use. Shenglan really goes the extra mile and I highly recommend her to be your Chinese tutor whether you are an absolute beginner (like me) or at an advanced level! 谢谢老师!
