Hi, I’m Jieyu Yang (Iris) from Taiwan. Mandarin is my native language. I speak English and I’m currently learning Spanish — so I truly understand the joys and challenges of learning a new language!

I’ve been teaching Mandarin online for over three years. My students come from the Americas, Europe, and Asia — both adults and children. My classes are practical and interactive. I not only teach standard Mandarin but also introduce useful slang, cultural insights, and real-life expressions to help you communicate naturally.

Iris is very good at teaching through speaking Mandarin as much as possible, using multiple ways to say something to explain the words I am confused about until I understand, usually without needing to resort to saying it directly in English. Her English is excellent, so when I have a question about some subtlety she is able to immediately understand and explain in English. I am very impressed by the effort she puts into making customized study materials for each class. I highly recommend her as a Mandarin teacher!
