I hold a teaching diploma from Alliance Française of Paris, and I'm currently completing a master's degree in language teaching methodology at the University of Grenoble Alpes — one of France's top-ranked universities. I'm also interested in cognitive science and enjoy using science-based strategies to support learning and memorization. In addition to French, I also teach Occitan, a Romance language spoken in the southern part of France, and Esperanto, an international language designed to be easy and fun to learn. With 25 years of teaching experience (20 as an independent tutor), I specialize in structured, school-style lessons tailored to your goals. Whether you’re starting from scratch or polishing fluency, I’ll help you build and improve skills systematically. When teaching I take my work seriously. A scheduled lesson becomes part of my weekly plan and I get ready for it. I conduct a detailed journal of what we have been doing, thus it is easy for me to check the content of our previous sessions. I used to teach students in physical classrooms. In 2021 I started using Skype for my lessons (today it's Teams) and things work out very well. I am always punctual as I respect the time my students take for our lessons, likewise I do appreciate if my students do the same. Meaning a thorough explanation of the grammar with several carefully tailored examples, exercises, homework, checking the student's progress, listening and reading comprehensions and once the student's knowledge progresses sufficiently, having a conversation.

For 16 years, I teach occitan and esperanto, volunteer or as employee in a language training center. I runned for 6 years online training, I regularly teach courses of all kinds. I do not have a university education, I learned as we say "on the job" but I'm very interested in pedagogy, I like to read, to explore and train myself on the subject, I like to experiment with new techniques and I always try to improve myself.

Multilingual teacher of Finnish and Esperanto My main goal as a teacher is to make the student feel relaxed and confident. My lessons are a safe space and I focus on the positive things.

My goal is to make each student confident in their ability to learn languages. I let my students explore both traditional and untraditional methods and support them along their language learning journey with patience and enthusiasm. Moreover, I will provide you with my notes and suggestions on how to improve after each class! I have experience in teaching and tutoring language students of all ages and backgrounds. Every language level is welcome, from beginner to advanced.

Teaching (and language learning) is who I am. In university, many of my friends were international students. I took pride in my ability to adapt my English to the appropriate level as they progressed. I was learning German, and this really helped me see things from their perspective. Now I am well-known in the Esperanto community - a regular teacher-in-residence at NASK and other events. In 1988 I became a tutor in a Free Esperanto Course (which I now administer), and when I left my IT career in 2016, I started teaching once a week at the local ESOL Association, as well as tutoring on line and in person. Teaching different languages in these situations has given me a unique perspective.
